The company grew through the 90’s and by 2001 employed a staff of 25, including, installation teams of wireless, fibre optic, voice and data communications engineers, also offering nationwide, project management, design, consultancy and technical support to both end users and sub-contractors alike.

In August 2001 Optech Fibres Limited was acquired by Black Box a large US based Company and became part of their new Data Services Division trading as Black Box Network Services-Ltd-( North West), the company’s specialist fibre optic arm. The NW office supplied the technical expertise and manpower to service the Black Box Group’s fibre optic requirements nationwide

 In 2005 restructuring of Black Box UK operations, allowed the North West Management Team to seize the opportunity and return to an independent status, once again working under the trade name of Optech Fibres Ltd, complete with a Service Partner agreement, as an Approved Installer for Black Box Network Services.

Optech Fibres Ltd offer a wide range of fibre optic and copper communications services, upon which the company was originally built, as well as the skills developed under the Black Box Group such as Wireless networking, Free Space Optics and VPN’s.
